An English Country House Wedding

An English Country House Wedding

After Antonia & Craig’s original wedding date of 26th September 2020 at Cowdray House was postponed due to Covid-19, they rearranged to get married in Summer 2021. It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to share a snippet of their very special day with you, beautifully documented on camera by Helen Abraham Photography and Ash Videography.

Following a traditional religious ceremony at The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Petworth, England Antonia & Craig headed to Cowdray House in West Sussex for their reception. “This venue is truly something special and the House is yours for the weekend,” the couple explain. They opted for an ‘English Country’ wedding theme, using an elegant palette of white, green, blush pink and a dash of blue. It worked in perfect harmony with the country house wedding venue, curating a timeless, classic and utterly personal wedding day.

Antonia’s aisle style was truly breath-taking, featuring a tailor-made Jesus Peiro gown from Miss Bush in Ripley. “The dress was a bespoke creation of styles from Jesus Peiro and from the Miss Bush Anniversary dress. The overtrain was also a Jesus Peiro special from the 2020 collection,” the bride tells us. A bridal bouquet featuring Leonora and Purity from the David Austin Wedding Roses collection was an exquisite match for Antonia’s bridal look, in romantic shades of creamy-white and ivory. It was tied with an ivory ribbon, while the bridesmaids carried a mix of Leonora, Eugenie, Keira and Purity roses in their bouquets, which added subtle hints of blush and pink. The groom and his groomsmen looked handsome in traditional Morning Suits from Favour Brook, featuring Houndstooth trousers, jacket and buff waistcoat with cream.

The Cowdray Florist in Residence, Karen Watson of  ‘This Floral Life’ combined a mixture of David Austin Wedding Roses for the table centrepieces including Leonora, Eugenie, Keira, Purity, Juliet and Constance. “I was very keen to have David Austin Roses due to their scent, beautiful names and the elegance they exude,” says Antonia. The couple styled their tablescapes with candelabra adorned with ivy and eucalyptus and footed glass vases filled with florals.
