If you’re dreaming of a classically elegant wedding, full of fluffy white roses and cosy candlelight, today’s glorious real wedding – featured in The New York Times – is sure to inspire you. Rachael and Travis tied the knot in an intimate winter wedding at the Wheatleigh Estate, a luxury hotel in The Berkshires area of Massachusetts, which they covered in white David Austin Wedding roses to create the most magical setting for their celebration. The wedding event was beautifully captured by award-winning wedding photographer Jenny Fu.

Over to bride Rachael Bozsik Johanson to tell us more about it: “For our 30 person intimate yet over-the-top fairytale wedding, I selected to use over 1,500 gorgeous David Austin white wedding roses – Leonora, Patience and PurityWe used the white roses on staircases, mantles, ceremony arch, tablescapes, hanging from the ceiling … everywhere you turned our wedding was dripping with gorgeous blooms. Our guests were blown away by the floral displays, taking pictures to share with friends. It felt like we were in a gorgeous English garden. It was just perfect.”

Rachael had a very specific idea in mind for her bridal look and worked with concierge bridal stylist The One Gown to track down a vintage 1950s Dior gown at auction, which was reworked by LA bridal tailor, Chynna Pope. “On my wedding weekend I felt like a Parisian ballerina, with my hair in a little chignon and wearing my grandmother’s jewellery.” explains Rachael. “I deeply believe in vintage fashion – it tells a story and a legacy for years to come.”

All White Rose Bouquet

Rachael’s Parisian ballerina vibe was woven throughout the wedding design and our classic roses added to the aesthetic of sophisticated elegance. Careth Leining of Stems Flower Design created dramatic rose-filled designs to bring a sense of luxury to the Wheatleigh, enhancing the historical setting and vintage styling details. We particularly love the spectacular overhead rose display suspended above the reception table, adding to the feeling of intimacy as the couple and their guests enjoyed a cosy candlelit dinner.
