A Californian Country Club Wedding

A Californian Country Club Wedding

We absolutely love seeing David Austin Roses in your real weddings. It’s amazing to see how florist’s showcase our roses so differently to complement each couple’s design brief, always elevating wedding flowers to the next level of style and sophistication.

Today we’re travelling to California for a peek at Kiersten and Eli’s stunning country club wedding at Vista Valley. The couple chose Patience, our perfect ivory rose, as the focus of their green and white wedding flowers, which gave a timeless fresh feel to their elegant wedding.

White and Green Wedding Flowers

The classic clean colour palette of white and green was an exquisite choice for Kiersten and Eli’s wedding venue, perfectly complementing the verdant surroundings and soft honey-coloured architecture. Such an understated colour palette is a lesson in refinement and really allows Patience to shine, without distracting the eye with superfluous flowers and foliage.

Ivory Rose Bouquet

Floral designer Nancy Teasley from Oak and The Owl crafted the most beautiful ivory bridal bouquet, featuring Patience alongside black-eyed white anemones, peonies, spray roses, thistles, veronica and olive foliage. The bouquet couldn’t be a more perfect design for Kiersten’s chic A-line gown with plunging neckline and pretty floral appliqué. Kiersten’s seven bridesmaids wore pale grey dresses in an assortment of styles and carried posies of Patience and spray roses to complement the bridal bouquet.

White and Green Wedding Ceremony

Ivory roses and foliage adorned a grand wrought iron gate at the garden entrance, and the dramatic wooden pergola that formed the backdrop to their ceremony. With the lush mature trees and white fold-out chairs, the whole look was chic, simple and oh so effective!

Ivory Rose Reception Centrepieces

Nancy created centrepieces in several different styles for the indoor wedding reception, which is a great way to add interest and variety to a large space. The round tables featured fountains of olive foliage in tall glass vases, while the long tables were decorated with textured runners of baby blue eucalyptus. Other tables featured beautiful compote designs in white footed vases, echoing the style of Kiersten’s bridal bouquet. Sprigs of rosemary sat at each place setting and twinkling tea-lights and taper candles created a cosy atmosphere for the evening.

Floral decorations continued throughout the reception space to tie the whole look together. A dramatic garland of ivory roses and foliage adorned the mantlepiece behind Kiersten and Eli’s sweetheart table, and a vase display sat on a rustic table full of delicious desserts. The white two-tier cake was simply decorated with vines and scabiosa flowers.
