Beatrice

Beatrice, or Bea for short, is full of spring and summer joy. The Latin meaning of her name truly defines her character: she who brings happiness; blessed. With a rosette of golden and yellow buttery swirls ringed by outer petals of cooler blonde highlights, she is graceful and radiant. Beatrice is indeed blessed with a wonderful fragrance of myrrh with hints of fruit and almond.

From Bud to Bloom

Beatrice keeps on giving. Whilst opening her petals move around playfully until they find their place to create a perfect rosette. Her transformation to fully open bloom may take up to four days but her performance is quite mesmerising.

Beatrice has been described as a laid-back beauty she immediately lends herself to informal summer weddings in the country or by the sea.  Alternatively, bring Bea together with a gathering of spring flowers or rich and copper colours of autumn and she will play to the season elevating an occasion to even greater heights but always with absolute grace and refinement.

As a florist, David Austin cut roses have become so familiar to me – beautiful varieties that have maintained the essence of the original garden roses. Beatrice has become my favourite – overcoming my fear of yellow! It’s a rose that’s strong enough to use at weddings and the buttery shade makes all the flowers around it sing – there’s nothing at all quite like it
