Dreams Come True with The Knot and David Austin Roses!

Dreams Come True with The Knot and David Austin Roses!

David Austin Roses was honored to participate in the staging of The Knot’s 2014 Dream Wedding! This year’s dream wedding was awarded to Rebekah Gregory and Pete DiMartino, survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. This highly deserving couple wed on April 4, 2014, at the historic and luxurious Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

Prior to the wedding, the editors with The Knot, a popular wedding magazine with trending ideas and planning content for brides, invited readers to vote for their favorite floral designs. The winning floral theme, ‘Whimsical Woodland,” highlighted several David Austin cut garden rose varieties!

As a result, Green Valley Floral, a premiere grower and distributor of David Austin Roses, in partnership with the California Cut Flower Commission, provided more than 1,000 David Austin roses for the wedding’s floral décor, from table centerpieces to the bride’s bouquet. The floral arrangements, designed by Holly Chapple & The Chapel Designers, featured Juliet, Keira, Miranda, Cymbeline, Phoebe, and Rosalind garden roses in a romantic and natural tone with shades of pink as well as peach and lavender.

To bring the “Whimsical Woodland” theme to life, the aisle was lined with elaborate floral runners featuring Juliet and Keira cut garden roses and covered with flower petals.

Tall centerpiece arrangements showcasing Juliet, Miranda and mixed pink David Austin roses were placed at every reception table with exposed wooden bases adorned with crystal garlands.

In addition to the flower baskets, the flower girls wore floral crowns of mixed pink David Austin Roses, completing the “Whimsical Woodland” dream wedding theme.
